About us - Jack Burke
Hi, I’d like to welcome you to our Sound Marketing website and my personal page. In today’s fast-moving world of technology, I try to focus on the human aspect of relationships. So if you’d like a more traditional bio, scroll down.
The most important person in my life is my wife and partner, Jo Ann. I’ve had the privilege of working together with her on a daily basis since we founded Sound Marketing in 1984.
Sound Marketing actually started one morning when I refused to get out of bed to go to work. I was no longer motivated or challenged by my daily routine, despite the fact that it provided a very comfortable life for us. When I explained my feelings to Jo Ann, and elaborated that my dream was to combine my experience in both radio/television news and the corporate world to help other business, she immediately said, “Then let’s do it!” And we’ve been “doing it” together for over 25 years now.
On the more personal side, Jo Ann and I are the proud parents of four daughters: Elizabeth, Melissa, Virginia, and Tara. These daughters have graced our lives with five grandchildren: Kethry, Fiona, Taylor, Miyah, and Sean.
A currently dormant hobby is restoring 1960’s vintage vehicles. One of my early projects was a 1967 Thunderbird Landau, which was unfortunately totaled in Malibu Canyon in 1988.
My all-time favorite was a 1969 Mercury Marquis convertible with a 429 V8. Just prior to the Branson move in 2005, I sold it to a collector in Sweden.
Since I’ve become somewhat inactive on the vehicle restoration, my spare time in Branson is primarily devoted to service work within the community, including serving as the Board Chairman for Christian Action Ministries (CAM). CAM operates two food pantries and a mobile outreach to serve the needs of Taney County.

As the founder of Sound Marketing, he has been acknowledged as the developer of such innovative programs as California's Audio Ballot Pamphlet, Delivery Tapes for the automobile industry and a "Talk-Radio" style of audio marketing programs for business.
Jack has served as business consultant or coach to numerous entities in the insurance, manufacturing, entertainment, non-profit, and hospitality industries, focusing on strategic planning, marketing, communications, customer service, and general management.
